Where to stay

Hotels

Let’s face it – we’re all veterans of the whole “wedding weekend” at this point in our lives. We know how this works, we know what’s expected, we know what to do.

This was all taken into consideration when this whole Hitching and Hootenanny was designed. All of the things you’re “supposed” to do at a wedding? It went right out the window.

That goes for where to stay.

Stay wherever you would like.

We don’t have a group of rooms booked under the “Goetz Long Wedding” (and if you haven’t said that out loud yet, please do so now and understand why Kari won’t be hyphenating her name).

There are so many options along the beaches.  From elegant resorts like the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater to the throwback kitsch of the Thunderbird Resort in Treasure Island, there is something for every taste and every budget.

Stay in St. Petersburg and Clearwater if you can – it’s going to be easier to get to the wedding site than Tampa locations. Here’s an interactive site from Visit St. Pete Clearwater that should get you on the right path. If you have any questions or you aren’t sure, just ask us.

Also, if you’re flying into TPA check to see if your hotel has a shuttle. If you aren’t renting a car, the shuttles are a nice perk.  Give yourself about 45-50 minutes from the Airport to your hotel.

Have fun, stay someplace cool, make it an adventure.
