By now you have gotten your invitation in the mail.\u00a0 That\u2019s probably why you are reading this right now. You got your invitation, you saw that we had a website, you cringed a little (it\u2019s okay, we would be disappointed in you if you didn\u2019t), and you came over here to see what all the fuss was about.<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s where we tell you\u2026 there is no fuss.<\/p>\n

Kari’s last post was about the idea of a \u201cspecial day,\u201d and how Team Goetz and Team Long plan to have lots of special days. But we know that can still confuse and confound people.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had several people ask us what we want for our wedding.<\/p>\n

We honestly want you to make a donation to your local YMCA Youth In Government<\/a> program. It\u2019s where Crawford and Kari met<\/a>. Make a donation so that the next generations of Crawfords and Karis can meet. Or Karis and Karis can meet, or Crawfords can meet Crawfords \u2013 which leads us to our next donation option: Equality Florida<\/a>.\u00a0 We believe that love is love and the way you\u2019re born is the way you\u2019re born. If you agree with that \u2013the folks at Equality Florida can put your donation to good use, ensuring that all Americans can have equal rights and the right to pursue their happiness.<\/p>\n

Finally \u2013 if YMCA YIG is too foreign, Equality Florida too political, consider the American Humane Society<\/a> (or the Humane Society in your area). Puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, barnyard animals, and the occasional avian pet need your help to find their forever homes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i>Also this will be appreciated ten years from now when Crawford and Kari are featured on their own episode of\u00a0Hoarders: Animal House<\/i>.<\/a><\/p>\n

We don\u2019t need anything. We have everything we could ever need. (That\u2019s not true, we really need a couch \u2013 woo lawd do we both have some sad ass couches, but seriously you can\u2019t buy us a couch and you won\u2019t know what kind of couch we like, but thanks for the offer). We don\u2019t need a\u00a0third<\/i>\u00a0blender. We don\u2019t know what we\u2019re going to do with all the duplicates of the things we already have in our separate houses. We\u2019re two-grown-ass-almost-middle-aged-professionals. If we needed it in the last 20 years, we bought it. Ironically, Kari\u2019s\u00a0toaster\u00a0is on the fritz, which she thought was a sign that the impending nuptials were blessed by the kitchen gadget gods, but it could also just be a sign that Crawford needs to move to Tampa quickly so Kari can start using his\u00a0toaster.<\/p>\n

We hope this clears things up. You\u2019re always welcome to make a donation to a charity you believe in and enjoy. If you really wanted to get us something, Crawford and Kari both have a childhood connection to farming \u2013 so you could always buy a sheep or a cow from Heifer International<\/a>. That would be rad.<\/p>\n
